Abstract

Changsin·Sungin as leading Urban Regeneration areas faces both an opportunity of ‘Vitalization of Regeneration’ according to public policy and crisis such as raise of rent and leaving of the native citizen and poor micro enterprises at the same time. To revitalize Changsin·Sungin by overcoming the declined industrial crisis protecting poor micro enterprises under the effect of the public policy called Urban Regeneration project, overall and multilateral analysis on the actual condition of Changsin·Sungin must be preceded. There should be a diagnosis of Changsin·Sungin areas through an analysis on the actual condition of the areas and micro enterprises, and then plans for protecting micro enterprises in the process of revitalization as per Urban Regeneration project should be explored on the basis of it.

According to the background and purpose of the study, this study is carried out as follows; First, investigate overall condition and the industrial structure of Changsin·Sungin. Also, examine current status and an institutional limit of Changsin·Sungin reviewing laws and institutions related to supporting micro enterprises and public policies related to Urban Regeneration. Second, investigate the actual condition and cognition of micro enterprises in Changsin·Sungin in depth. Investigate the environment micro enterprises are in, the cognition of Urban Regeneration project, and the expectation on the public through In-depth interview of micro enterprises in Changsin·Sungin. Third, derive implications of the role of public in Urban Regeneration project from case studies based on manufacturing and small business in United States, United Kingdoms, and France. Last, understand comprehensive cognition and characteristics of Small Business and micro enterprises through the process of the above research and bring out the improvement plan to protect and support micro enterprises on the basis of the identities and the distinct characteristics of Changsin·Sungin.
