Seasonal Particulate Matter(PM) Management System in Seoul, Korea implemented from December to March was first introduced in December 2019. The third seasonal management system was implemented from December 2021 to March 2022. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has implemented 16 measures in four areas(transportation, heating, workplaces, and exposure reductions) as the third seasonal management measures. To reduce the emissions from transportation, heating, and workplaces, which are main emission sources of PM2.5 in Seoul, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has continued to promote existing core measures and established a real-time monitoring system for emission sources. In addition, measures to reduce the exposure of PM2.5 have been expanded.

In this study, the performance and effectiveness of the third Seasonal Particulate Matter Management System were evaluated. In addition, considering changes in internal and external policies and recent scientific findings, advancing direction for the Seasonal Particulate Matter Management System and measures for the 4th season were proposed.
