Seoul City, which is at high risk of large-scale landslide disasters due to urban expansion, artificial damage, and climate change, needs to actively promote landslide prevention projects.
It is important to thoroughly verify the necessity and technical suitability of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s landslide project feasibility evaluation criteria to ensure scientific (appropriate budget and safety) and minimize environmental impact. In particular, it is essential to select a reinforcement project that takes into account the dangerous slopes that are widely distributed in Seoul and to select a measure that is suitable for the characteristics of the site.
As a result of the continuous promotion of the risk reduction slope reinforcement project for the past three years, landslides and slope collapse accidents in major risk areas of Seoul have decreased. Seoul Metropolitan Government Internal Data (2024)
It can be seen that the risk reduction slope reinforcement project is very important, and more systematic and preemptive measures are needed in the face of the increasing trend of extreme weather phenomena due to climate change.
This study proposes a plan to expand the existing classification system to five business categories including risk slope reinforcement projects. A risk slope reinforcement project feasibility evaluation judgment table was created. This study presents a guide that systematizes the installation purpose and selection reasons for 42 structural measures.
Landslide prevention facilities are important disaster prevention infrastructures to protect citizens from landslides and debris flows. Road retaining walls and other infrastructures are efficiently designed and constructed using standard drawings, but there is no standard drawing for landslide dams. Standard drawings are standardized design plans applied to facilities that are frequently designed and repeatedly applied under similar conditions. This has various advantages, such as design efficiency and time saving, quality control and standardization, cost reduction through material management, and safety assurance. This study presents the approach and scope of application for creating standard drawings for landslide dams.
