The Urban Planning & Design Research Division explores ways to create desirable cities for residents in Seoul and sustainable urban spaces through fact-based research and collaborative studies with academics and civil society. The division establishes a framework for urban planning and management by devising the Seoul Plan and the Metropolitan Plan. They are dedicated to turning Seoul into a futuristic city by promoting the balanced development of areas and urban regeneration, improving urban and residential environments, and developing public spaces.
